Buddha society in Bangalore

The Bangalore Buddha society in the Buddha Vihar road in Cox town was started in 1907 by Ayodidas Panditar, hailing from Madras and who had visited Sri Lanka and had embraced Buddhism there. On his return to Madras, he started the Shakya Buddhist Society. B R Ambedkar visited the Bangalore Buddha vihar in 1954.
