About Lakes conversations
Bengaluru lakes are dying. The city once boast of 262 lakes in green belt area in 1962. This number fell to 81 by 1986 and has further dwindled. The number keeps decreasing due to environment pollution, unplanned urban development, unregulated land use and toxic contamination amongst other reasons.
Amidst these scary facts, IChangeMyCity intends to create a practical and a constructive dialogue between all stakeholders involved- citizens, NGOs, the civic authority and other subject matter experts. These conversations will help all those involved understand the current conditions of these lakes and in turn help find effective solutions to revive the lakes and keep the current ones in good condition.
