Brahmo Samaj activity in Bangalore

The Brahmo Samaj movement began in 1866 in Bangalore with some religious minded intellectuals conducting prayers in a room in Kalasipalayam. Chandrasekhara Iyer led the group for a while, while it was the philanthropist Rao Bahadur Arcot Narayanaswamy Mudaliar who donated land for a Brahmo Mandir in the Cantonment area. Now the Brahmo Samoj activites are in Cottonpet, Shivaji Nagar and Basavanagudi.
